"Good bike, but the support afterwards was a letdown"
I bought a bike from Evans Cycles and, to be fair, the actual buying experience was smooth. The bike itself is good and I didn’t really have any complaints at that stage.
The hassle started when I needed help with a small fault. You send an email and wait ages, then when you call, you just get pointed back to the store. It felt like nobody was really taking ownership of it.

It did get sorted eventually, but only after I chased it quite a bit. Not the worst experience ever, but you do expect better after-sales support when you’ve just bought a bike from them.

"Order was mostly right"
The item itself was the right one, but the size was wrong. Not sure how to explain it, but it was close enough to being right that it was just a little frustrating.

"Delivery timing was a bit of a letdown"
I ordered a bike part because the delivery date shown at checkout worked for me, though to be fair I probably should’ve left myself a bit more wiggle room. It didn’t arrive when expected, and the tracking wasn’t much help, so I ended up having to chase it myself. It finally showed up a few days late, which threw off my plans since I’d already set aside time to sort the bike. The part itself was fine once it arrived, but the delivery reliability could definitely be better.

I expected the warranty thing to take much longer, but it got sorted quickly. I was ready for a bit of back and forth, so... yeah, pleasantly surprised.

"Confusing updates and poor communication"
The communication from Evans Cycles was really poor. The website seemed to say one thing about my order, but then I wasn’t getting any clear updates, so I had no idea what was actually going on. I emailed twice and both times just got vague replies a few days later that didn’t really answer anything. It felt like nobody was taking ownership of it or even really cared. Frustrating experience overall.

"I picked up a hybrid bike from..."
I picked up a hybrid bike from Evans Cycles and, overall, I’d say the quality is decent for what I paid. The frame feels sturdy, the gears shift smoothly enough most of the time, and the brakes feel nice and responsive.

The only thing stopping me from giving it full marks is the saddle, which felt a bit on the cheap side and I ended up replacing it after a little while. Apart from that, I’m happy with it, it rides well and feels like it should last a good few years.

"Refund was sorted so easily!!"
I had to send an item back and thought it was going to be a hassle, but Evans Cycles made it really straightforward!! The refund was processed quickly and the money was back in my account without me having to chase anyone. Really impressed with the service.

"Helpful staff, but still a bit pricey"
I popped into Evans Cycles to check out a new helmet and the guy in the store was really helpful. He didn’t rush me or try to steer me straight toward the most expensive option, which I appreciated, and he actually took the time to help me get the right fit. I was a bit unsure at first because some of the prices seemed higher than I expected, but overall it was a easy visit and I left with what I needed. I’d probably go back again.

I was trying to browse for bikes on the Evans Cycles website, and while I did manage to get through it in the end, the whole experience felt more frustrating than it really needed to be. The main thing that annoyed me was the filters. I’d narrow things down, click into a product, then go back, and half the time it felt like the filters had reset or I had to sort things out again, which gets old quickly when you’re comparing a bunch of different bikes. The search results also felt a bit all over the place, so I spent more time digging around than I expected. A few of the product pages were slow to load too, which made the whole process feel clunky. Checkout was actually fine once I got there, so it wasn’t a total disaster, but browsing and comparing products could definitely be smoother. Not an awful site, just not a particularly enjoyable one to use.

"Bike showed up in a wrecked box"
Ordered a new bike from evanscycles.com am I missing something here? The bike turned up in a battered box, ripped down one side, with the tape looking like it was just about hanging on.

Luckily the bike itself only had a small mark, but for the price I really expected it to be packed with a bit more care. Delivery was fine enough, but the packaging definitely let the whole experience down

"Service took a while and didn’t really help"
I waited quite a bit to get my bike back, and it felt like it came back kind of worse than before. The staff seemed a bit rushed or distracted, like they were just trying to get through the jobs. Not the best experience overall.

"Easy pickup, with a short wait"
I ordered a few bike bits online earlier in the week and picked the in-store collection option at Evans Cycles. By the next day I had the email saying everything was ready, so that part was really straightforward and saved me wandering around trying to find it all myself.

When I popped in later that afternoon, I did have to hang about for a little while before someone was free to get the order from the back. It wasn’t a big deal though, the staff were friendly enough, and everything was exactly what I’d ordered. I’d use it again

"Not sure it was assembled quite right"
I’m not exactly a bike expert, so maybe I’m missing something, but it didn’t feel like the bike was put together properly. The gears were rubbing, and the brakes felt off, like they hadn’t been set up very well. I was expecting it to be ready to ride, but it definitely seemed like it needed some adjusting.

I went in with a couple of bike questions, and while the staff wasn’t not friendly, they didn’t really seem too sure about what they were telling me. I got a few different answers depending on who I asked, so I ended up leaving more confused than when I walked in.

I had an issue with my order and it did take a little while to hear back, but once they got to it, they sorted everything out. Not the quickest start, but the end result was fair enough, if that makes sense

"Slow replies when I was trying to get help"
I reached out because I needed some help with an issue, it took way too long to hear back. I’d sent the message in the afternoon while I was between errands and kept checking for a reply, but it felt like ages before anyone got back to me. Even after all that waiting, not much was actually sorted, so it was frustrating overall.
